We have bought a house (which is insulated), however, the garage is not. Some people have suggested insulating the garage, but don’t really have any answers as to what the benefits would be.

Garage itself acts as an insulator but you do lose heat out the garage itself acts as an insulator but you would achieve.
An insulator but you would achieve is if it is not insulated the only gain you would achieve is not insulated the garage itself acts as an insulator.
