kenya1 asked:

the house was already pre-wired for a garage opener. i installed everything according to the manual except for the wires that come with the sensors. i cut them short and connected them to the prewired ones. the wires from my house are WHITE, RED and WHITE, the openers wires are WHITE, WHITE and GRAY. i connected them but nothing worked
on one side of the garage door, i have 2 wires out of the socket and on the other side its has 1 wire.
how do i connect this wires correctly for the sensors to work?
i have tried different ways, the lights on the sensors keep flashing and only one side of the sensor light comes on.

Every once in a while the sensors will come out of the box bad, it doesn’t happen very often Ive only seen it twice in ten years.
In order for both sensors to come on make sure that the positive and negative are hooked up correctly. If they are both sensors have to be hooked up and in line for both lights to come on. Do a short test to make sure that its not the sensors, hook them up close to each other and test them. You are better off using your wire instead if the wire in the house.
If the sensors are not aligned properly they will do what they are doing now. You will just have to move them around until the lights come on.
