seaofdreams831 asked:

I’m renting out a VERY SMALL room in a garage. It is just a room nothing else, not even a window. Bathroom is located in the main house. The landlord has another room in the garage that is being rented to another girl (this happened after I moved in). And currently she is fixing another room to rent out. So that’s 3 small rooms in total (in a garage) that she’s planning to rent out. I really wouldn’t care other then the fact that now I have to share a very small bathroom with other strangers. I wouldn’t be surprise if she starts adding more rooms.
So this is pretty much pissing me off, is this even legal? What legal actions can I do? I reside in Alhambra, (Los Angeles), I don’t care if I have to move out to make her stop doing this, this place aint exactly cheap housing when rent is $600 and has plans to stuff more people in here.

Of course it’s not legal. There are building codes that I’m sure are being broken. Here’s what you do. Call you town’s property inspection office, tell them about this situation. If you don’t get any satisfaction from that, then try your local fire chief.
