Can I reprogram my garage door opener unit?

Saturday, November 19th, 2011
PS asked:

We just moved into a a new home, and along with changing the door locks, I want to reprogram the garage opener unit so if the previous owners still have a remote opener, they won’t be able to come back to the property and open our garage. Is this possible? Or do I need to buy a whole new unit? (this is not a question on how to program the actual remote) Thanks!
Thank you everyone - the brand is a Liftmaster professional, but don’t know the model number, not over there now. It’s connected by metal bars to the garage.

What is the best insulation for a garage wall shared with an indoor living space?

Friday, November 18th, 2011
Ico Jones asked:

Any suggestions on insulating a cement wall that has a living room on one side and a non-climate controlled garage space on the other? A contractor suggested 2-inch foamboard, but brief Internet research seemed to indicate that 2 inches is overkill. I was amazed how expensive 2-inch foamboard was and was hoping for a cheaper alternative. I live in the Northeast, so the winters are cold and the summers are hot! Thanks.

How do you build shelves for a garage?

Sunday, November 13th, 2011
Matt T asked:

I am currently looking for a guide to building garage shelving units. Not looking for anything too complex, just something I will be able to store boxes and so forth on. Something I can anchor to the wall but does not need to be anchored to the ceiling or floor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What happens if you leave your motorcycle in a parking garage?

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011
Ayla asked:

My boyfriend lost the key to his motorcycle and he didn’t have the spare key so we had to call a locksmith to make the motorcycle key. It was really late and we had problems so the locksmith said he would come tomorrow. “Tomorrow” was when my bf had to go out of town for a few days so basically the motorcycle was left in the garage for several days.

Do you think it might be towed, fined, or anything like that??? The parking garage is FREE for motorcycles.
