How did garage sales get their start?

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011
Its Me asked:

Now a days having a garage sale is considered “normal”. Not only garage sales, but moving sales, yard sales and estate sales. How did the idea start? Any one know the history of a garage sale? Thanks

How do I keep the light on continuously in my garage?

Friday, August 26th, 2011
Barry_White_Pwns asked:

I have a Genie Pro Screw Drive garage door opener. The switch that is installed only allows me to open or close the garage door, leaving me with only the 4.5 minute default time limit before the lights turn off. In order to switch the lights on independent of door operation, do I need to install a new switch, or is there possibly a button on the power head which turns the lights on/a way to jimmy-rig my own light switch?
Where is said timer and how may I destroy it?

Getting rid of flies in my garage?

Monday, August 22nd, 2011
Huge24Fan asked:

We have a real bad problem with flies in our garage. I have tired everything…the wather bags (doesn’t work worth a crap) the fly strips work but only for awhile, fly spray (again, only work for awhile) I have cleaned up my garage and garbage outside of the garage and they still come around. I heard about spraying vineager around doors but does that really work? Probably just as well as the bags of water (which doesn’t) I have also been told using a half empty beer bottle and putting it out and it will attract flies…it does work but then you get more. I guess you would have to put it outside. have fly swatters but that’s getting gross. also heard of hainging clear 2 liter bottles and fill them alittle with sugar water or soda, pole a few holes around the bottle and the flies go in but can’t figure out how to get out…does that work at all?? I need a SURE FIRE way to get rid or minimise my fly problem…can’t anyone help?

What is the best way to attach a heavy bag in the garage?

Thursday, August 11th, 2011
Dom asked:

Hello everyone!

I bought a 80 lb heavy bag and I want to hang it up in the garage. I am afraid though that over time, the bag will rip out the garage ceiling leaving a huge hole. What is the best way to mount my heavybag in the garage?
