Took my Tigra in for head gasket repair, was told it would cost £380, after a week was told it was £480 as engine is 16 valve, then I was told it needed new timing belt kit and water pump increasing total to £560. After 2 long weeks, he said it was ready, took on test drive and car was running at 100 degrees and oil warning lamp came on. He said he would have to have another look at it. A few days later he called me to say my engine was beyond repair! and it needed another engine fitted, at an additional cost of £349+ vat. Naturally I kicked off as he had already removed the engine and other parts from under my bonnet without my go-ahead. He then said he would replace engine at his cost. After 3 weeks in total he called to say it was ready. Took on road test and engine management light came on, he said he would have a look and then advised me oxygene sensor was faulty, which would cost another £42+ vat - I left saying I was going to solicitor…can anyone advise me as I am at wits end.

I have to repeatedly press the remote button until it finally closes for good. I set it up by removing the cover and setting the security code with the placement of the pins 1-9. When I pressed the buttons on the unit in the garage, I could not see the detailed description of the buttons (4). The left most button was for the light bulb, of course. Thanks

CFLs are the (popular) spiral white light bulbs that are ‘green friendly’ and energy efficient etc. and they would go in the actual garage door opener, NOT the remote.

Most of our stuff is hers, so it’s hard to tell what to sell without asking her. We might have to avoid asking her at all, anything to get our house clean! If anyone has any advice, PLEASE help us out. We desperately need this!
I completely understand how she feels about hoarding. I’ve done it myself, but ive gone through therapy.
I hear what some of yall are saying by buying her organizational items, but every 11 rooms in our house (not including closets) is filled with her stuff. It’s not fair to me, my sister, and my dad to have to live in a storage unit. My dad goes along with it because he doesn’t want to hurt her feelings. And gets mad when i tell them the truth.

It has no dip switches to fiddle with. The 2nd one is the electronic one in my suburban that I had to program by pressing the key on the garage door opener to gain the frequency in the suburban. I have tried reprogramming the opener itself by pressing the memory button on the garage door and then pressing the handheld opener.
Neither opener works the door, but the doorbell switch functions and the warning space (to tell me if there is an obstruction, so the door will not go down on my son’s head) is functional.
I do not know what could have happened. All of a sudden the two openers will not function…any help would be greatly appreciated….and thanks to the others that wrote before…dave
