Theoreticaly, could someone buy a universal garage door opener and open my garage door. I know they sell universal openers but do you have to have a special code to open a door and would the code be relativly easy to figgure out? Gotta hate white-collar criminals.

We’ve got some broken electronic kid toys and was wondering if its okay to sell at a garage sall as “as is.” My sister notes that you never know because people who are looking may know how to fix some things.

I have an old Chamberlin garge door opener (1987) and want to add a photo eye safety device. Is there a kit that will work with older style garage doors?

I have seen many cabin kits online but all are too high priced. Could a person buy one of these cheap and very easy to build kits for a base camp building or would this be harder than building from logs?
http://ameribuiltsteel.com has the kit I am thinking about.

~ Lace ~ asked:

My husband restores cars and what not right now he is working on a 1967 Ford Bronco he wants to put a lift on it so we will need a bigger garage where he can pull the bronco in and out of the garage with ease once the lift is put on it. Does anyone know if they sell kits to build a garage like they do some log cabin houses and what not. you know where you go into home depot or where ever and pick the garage you want and then they sell it to you as a kit and you can get it cheaper. If you know what i am talking about where can i go to get one of these and roughly how much do you think this would cost.

the hand-held one and the one programmed into the suburban do not open the door anymore…however, the ‘doorbell’ switch still works. trying the reprogramming technique on the motor is ineffective. Any suggestions, please!

xvl260 asked:

Can 1/2hp garage door openers open a 2 car garage door without spring? One side of the wire on my garage door broke, right now the door is crooked. If I cut the remain wire, the door will not be sprung, will the garage door opener still have enough power to open it? This is just temp solution until I can get it fixed, but I need to know before I cut. Thanks.
What I had to do last night was, I losened the bolt that was holding the wheel that was winding the wire, it released the spring’s energy, then I just manually opened the door with a buddy. I’m going to hire a professional to fix it and wind it back to the proper tension though.
